Perhaps you sent a lovely card,
Or sat quietly in a chair,
Perhaps you sent a flower spray,
If so, we saw them there,
Perhaps you spoke the kindest words,
As any friend could say,
Perhaps you were not there at all,
Just thought of us that day,
Whatever you did to console our hearts,
We thank you so much whatever your part.
Thank you for all your kind expressions of sympathy in the loss of our father. His laughter, friendship and warm presence will be missed by all!

Daddy,
Well a month has gone past already and my heart has such a void. I keep thinking about those late night talks we would have form time to time. I have been wishing we could spend all night and half the day talking, so I could hear you tell me all those good old stories you use to tell or try to pass on some of that great wisdom you had. I even wish we could take a ride wherever you wanted or needed to go. Maybe even go 4 wheeling again up in the country, or take the cows to the stock market and sit there and listen to everything you tried to expalin to me so many times. I know the we still need to take that walk around the fence to check it to make sure the cows don't get out. I miss not being able to get that great advise you were so good at giving when I needed it. I would love to have one of those great hugs you would give me every time we got together. I always felt like I needed to do more, now I wish I had!
I know I will see you and Mom one day, but for now, I wish I could hear you say, "May you live forever and I may never die!
Love Always,
Margaret

Well, Daddy, looks like this is it. I miss you more already than I thought possible and it's only been two weeks. My heart and soul are bereft without you and Mom but I shall see you again when God sees fit. Until then I'll hold dear the memories that pop into my mind from time to time - like when we were up working on the truck together when I was a little girl, and when you had me ride with you on the back of your Harley to lunch for the last time at Riverside, and when you came to see me run the half mile my senior year in high school at State finals - I was so proud that you were there, and when I was young piglet running around and you would call me “Sugar Foot.” I guess, too, that week I was planning on spending with you “soon” will have to be put on hold until we meet again. You are forever in my heart and your legacy surely continues through your children and grandchildren.
Love, Audria
(You know, I didn’t want to believe them when they told me, Daddy. I continued to hold out until I had proof since you used to always tell us to reserve judgment since “Paper will sit still and let you write anything on it,” and “Believe HALF of what you see and NONE of what you hear.”)

Margaret & Lorna just heard this morning about your loss. I'm still in shock. Probably no help now but if there's anything I can do please let me know. I think I must have seen Lorna right before this happened. Your Dad was so strong and vibrant I still can't believe it. I was telling my granddaughter when we saw Lorna how we had been friends for 34 years. The only consolation is he's reunited with Peggy.

That picture is how I will always remember Junior...with a big grin on his face. He and my dad could exchange jokes and swap stories for hours! I wish I had a dollar for every time my dad has said "Let me tell you the one ole Junior told me the other day." He will be missed.
All the best and God's blessings to Nelson, Audria, and the entire family.

To the Family of Micajah:
Our deepest and heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of his family. Micajah was a dear friend and wonderful neighbor to us on Berry Hill Road. Many times, over the years, we shared parts of the day and some total evenings together having the most pleasurable of times at our place on Berry Hill and at the Smith Boys home-place. He will be greatly missed by us and surely by all that he touched and knew. His infectious smile, gift of gab and being so open to share time and thoughts made him a real treasure to humanity. He will forever be in our hearts and prayers.

My sympathy goes out to all the family and friends as I know there are many! I work at Shenandoah Harley Davidson and Micajah would always come in on his way to buy feed or something for the farm and would make a special point to stop and speak to me. He was very special and I really enjoyed our conversations, I know I speak for everyone here when I say we will miss him tremendously!God Bless You All!

Lorna, Kenny and Family
I am so sorry for your loss everyone will be telling you that it will get easier, but the easiness does not come right away, believe me I know. For a very long time you will see his smile, hear his voice and remember all of the wonderful things that made him a unique individual.
They say that God does not make mistakes and that every deed he does is for a reason. In this I have to believe that he has a bigger plan in store for our departed loved ones. Lorna just remember your dad is at home now with plenty of love ones around him. He will always be here with you in your heart, thoughts and memories.
So family let your heart and mind remember that all of his troubles are behind him. He is now free of pain and sorrow, no more sickness, no more unhappy days, nothing but love and happiness, warm and sunny days ahead.
To the family - Live your life as God would want you to and you will meet him again.
Love Always Mollie and the Waller Family

We are very sorry to hear about the passing of Micajah. We were neighbors on Berry Hill Road in Nelson County. We always enjoyed stopping along the roadside to chat with him when he was out tending his cattle or cutting hay. He had great stories to tell about the local area and the people who had come and gone. He was always a friendly neighbor, stopping by on occasion and letting us go hiking on his land. We will miss him. Our sincerest sympathies go out to all of his family.

I am so very sad to hear of Micajah's passing away. He was a client of mine for over three years and I used to look forward to his weekly visits into the bank. I have missed seeing him for the past several months due to an illness of my own. He will be greatly missed and I would like to extend my prayers and condolences to his family.

To the family of "Jr." Hicks..My name is Betsy Lawhorne and my father, deceased also, was George Craig. He worked with Jr. as we all called him at VDOT and they farmed together also. I met all of the children when I was a young one but you probably do not remember me. My Dad and my first husband Donald Viar..now deceased also, really liked Jr. He was a good hard working man with down to earth values. Just remember your memories..good or bad..they are YOUR memories. None of us are perfect but all of us had a reasoning to be on earth to share something and to do something..Sorry about your loss.
