Peggy Walker Sydnor
Peggy Walker Sydnor, 74, of Charlottesville, passed away at Martha Jefferson Hospital, Saturday, July 17, 2010, due to overwhelming ovarian cancer.
Peggy was born June 2, 1936, in Richwood, West Virginia. She was a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Nursing and was President of the student body. She was active in many community organizations including the Junior League of Charlottesville, the Contemporary Club of Albemarle, the Albemarle Garden Club, and St. Paul's Memorial Church.
Peggy is survived by her mother, Blanche G. Campbell; her husband, Dr. T. Austin Sydnor Jr; her son, Thomas Emmett Sydnor and his wife, Hunter McKinley, of Denver, Colorado; her daughters, Margaret Sydnor Jenkins and her husband, Lee Bryant III, of Wilson, North Carolina, and Anne Austin Sydnor of Charlotte, North Carolina. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Henry Austin Sydnor, Margaret Daniel Sydnor, Lee Bryant Jenkins IV, and Austin Sydnor Jenkins; by her sister, Rebecca Pettygrove and her husband, Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
Peggy was a devoted wife, beloved mother, and friend. She will always be remembered by her wonderful, energetic spirit.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010, at St. Paul's Memorial Church.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may consider a donation to St. Paul's Memorial Church, CASA, or the charity of your choice.

Peggy and Austin are in heaven now enjoying each other's company and socializing with several people in heaven. Peggy's sweet smile and calm demeanor are blessings that I still remember and cherish. Rest in Peace Sweet angel. God Bless you and your family.

I share your grief and loss in the death of your lovely Peggy. I always admired her and looked forward to our times together. It is hard for us old men to be losing our life long partners, but I have been blessed with making it through that terrible loss and I pray you will also.

Dr. Sydnor, you and your family lost a wife & mother but heaven gained one more "angel". Mrs. Sydnor, always wore a smile & just seeing her come in to the store would turn an unplesant day into a better one. She was a lovely lady. She will be missed by many.

Austin and family and Becca...Our hearts go out to you. Peggy was the essence of a southern lady; gracious, caring, smart and so energetic.
