Clinton “Shawn” Sydnor, age 47 of Georgetown, Ohio passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the Anderson Mercy Hospital in Anderson Township, Ohio. He was born June 17, 1978 in Cynthiana, Kentucky the son of the late Clinton E. and Kathy Jean (Miller) Sydnor. Shawn was a water analyst for the Tate Monroe Water Association, an avid sports fan and a baseball card collector who spent countless hours engaging in online auctions, showcasing his passion for the sport. His love for sports extended beyond collecting; he was an enthusiastic supporter of Emma and her softball team helping with anything asked of him and took great pride in being a loyal University of Kentucky fan. Shawn was an all-around great person, known for his willingness to help anyone in need. With a warm smile and a vibrant personality, he never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to uplift those around him. His generosity was evident not only in his interactions with friends and acquaintances but also in his dedication to the family business, Lang’s Pumpkins, where he proudly contributed in any way he could. Above all, Shawn dearly cherished his family, valuing every moment spent together. He will be remembered for his big heart, wonderful sense of humor and the love he shared with those who know him. Besides his parents, Shawn was preceded in death by one nephew – Evan Peoples and two uncles – Jesse Miller and Shelby Sydnor.
Mr. Sydnor is survived by his wife – Amanda (Brooks) Sydnor whom he married June 5, 2021; one step-daughter – Emma Brooks; two children – Shelby Sydnor and C. Shawn Sydnor, Jr. both of Kentucky; one sister – Tanja Stander and husband Bill of Union, Kentucky; father and mother-in-law – Ronnie and Sue Lang of Georgetown, Ohio; one sister-in-law – Deirdre Lang and husband Adam Truitt of Georgetown, Ohio; one nephew – Brandon Truitt of Georgetown, Ohio; three aunts – Joyce Bishop and husband Ernie of Brooksville, Kentucky; Betty Workman of Falmouth, Kentucky and Connie Lang and husband Daryll Mulbaney of Williamsburg, Ohio and many cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 5, 2025 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the New Harmony Cemetery near Mt.Orab, Ohio.
