Randolph N. Roach

Randolph N. Roach, 73, of Stanardsville, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010, at his residence with several loved ones by his side.

He was born August 17, 1936, in Rockingham County. The son of the late Theora Roach and Newt Morris.

Randolph worked at Virginia Metals in Orange for 30 years and for Siemans in Earlysville 12 years before retiring.

He is survived by his special five cousins who he thought of as his sisters, Marie Worley of Stanardsville, who he lived with, Ruby Collier of Quinque, Georgianna Lamm of Gordonsville, Helen Morris of Dyke, and Lucille Shifflett of Elkton; his three half-brothers, Paul, Leonard and Phillip; his half-sister, Mary Morris; a special cousin, Brandon Morris, who he called "Buddy Boy"; also his large extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Ryan Funeral Home with the Reverends Wendell Lamb and Johnny Roach officiating.

Interment will follow at High Top Cemetery.

The Roach family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Ryan Funeral Home.

Randolph was a classmate of mine and we graduated in the Class of 1956 from William Monroe. I remember Randolph as a quiet and eager to learn student. My deepest sympathy to his family.
