Samuel Jeremiah Sutton Jr. GOSHEN

Samuel Jeremiah Sutton Jr., 77, Goshen, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at the Hospice House, Charlottesville.

He was born April 3, 1933, in Staunton, the son of the late Samuel Jeremiah Sr. and Louise Virginia Sutton.

Mr. Sutton was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Martha Jefferson Hospital.

He was a member of Goshen Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Rosemarie Van Fossen Sutton, of Palmyra, family members include three sons, Scott Alan Sutton and Michael Wayne Sutton, both of Woodland, California, and David Stewart Sutton of Louisa; two daughters, Susan Jane Sutton-Newton of Fishersville and Ruth Elizabeth Augustin of Spencersville, Maryland; two brothers, Gary Sutton and Lanny Sutton; a sister, Joyce Ann McCauley Floyd; 12 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be conducted 11a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011, at the Goshen Baptist Church by the Reverends Scott Reese and Tyler Clem.

There will be no public viewing or visitation.

Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Rosemarie, Beth, David and family:
We were extremely sad when we heard of Mr. Sutton's (Sam) passing.
As you know, you all are like family to us. We thank you for the memories and fun times shared as neighbors and friends. Please know that God is still watching over you....and Sam is with him, too.
Be blessed and know that we are here for you.
