Steven Wendell Evans

Steven Wendell Evans, 28, of Massies Mill, died on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. He was born in Charlottesville on September 8, 1983, the son of Wendell Massie Evans and Donna Goin Evans.

Steven was a Systems Administrator in the Telecommunications Department for the University of Virginia as well as a member of Jonesboro Baptist Church. He was a humorous and well-rounded person. Steven was well-loved and dedicated himself to his family and church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his childhood sweetheart and beloved wife, Najomi Tolton Evans; son, Kyle Massie Evans, and a much anticipated baby due September 24, 2012; sister, Danita Lynn Evans; paternal grandmother, Mary Evans; maternal grandmother, Nancy Grant; mother-in-law, Katherine Tolton; grandmother-in-law, Catherine Tolton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Massie Evans; maternal grandfather, James Goin; father-in-law, John Tolton; and grandfather-in-law, George Tolton. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Jonesboro Baptist Church by the Reverend John Gordon with burial to follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012, at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home.
