Evan Meder Obituary

Meder, Evan Joseph

Green Bay/Madison - Evan Joseph Meder, age 8, passed away on May 22, 2013. He was an Ambassador of Joy to everyone he met.

Evan was born on June 13, 2004 in Raleigh, NC. He had Apert Syndrome, a rare craniofacial disorder that affected most of the bones in his body, and required many surgeries throughout his brief life. Despite his physical limitations and medically fragile condition, Evan approached every day and every event with infectuous enthusiam. Even day to day tasks that most of us simply endure were exciting opportunities to Evan that needed to be savored and enjoyed.

Evan loved everyone, bringing people together to see life through his joy filled eyes. He loved playing with his big brother, spending time with his Mommy and running errands with his Daddy. He loved fishing, playing baseball in the Miracle League, singing and dancing. Evan loved every new experience, loved seeing his friends and family, and meeting new people. Everyone who met him was instantly changed by his joyful spirit. Evan taught us all what was important in life and how to get the most out of every moment.

Evan is survived by his parents Randall and Margaret (Jackson) and his brother, Jonathan; grandparents, Jerome and Judy Meder and Margaret Anne Jackson and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 2 at First United Methodist Church, 501 Howe St. in Green Bay with Rev. Dave Wilkinson officiating. The family will greet visitors following the service. Memorials may be made to Children's Craniofacial Association, 13140 Coit Road, Suite 517, Dallas, Texas 75240.

Evan was a blessing sent from Heaven to all of us who knew him. Whether it was a blessing of his contagious smile, his inquesitve conversation that turned into sheer laughter, his curious questions about everything,or his sweet innocence of life. Evan treasured and loved his relationships/friendship with his bus drivers, teachers, classmates, paras, therapists, doctors, nurses, grandparents brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, dad and mom. Oh, if we all could have the joy, peace, love and laughter seen through Evans eyes and feel like Evans heart, life was good. I will always remember Evan each morning waiting for him on the school bus,you could see his face peering through the window with that Evans smile. Sometimes his nose was pressed tightly against the window. But as I got on the bus, Evan shouts out,"Here I am Mrs. Solper!" That was Evan. Each day was like the first day of school for him. I thank God that He gave me moments in my day to work with Evan and experience his contagious personality. He will truly be missed. I pray for your family and your sadness. Until we meet again Evan. Thank you Evan for showing us how life should be lived.

With all my sympathy,
Mrs. Solper
