PHILLIP KURT DOHERTY of Cos Cob, died on April 24, 2012 at age 56. Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Neil Doherty and Marie LaRochelle Doherty, he graduated from Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts where he met Kathryn Perna from Greenwich, his wife of 30 years. After working in Manhattan and Italy, they together created the design firm Doherty & Doherty Inc. In addition to graphic design and photography, Phillip was passionate about art, gardening, cooking, and summers in Maine. As an Executor for the French Farm estate in Greenwich, he was devoted to fulfilling the requests for its transition and instrumental in realizing the vision for the property with the Friends of French Farm and the Greenwich Historical Society. Phillip is survived by his wife Kathryn, his daughter Hannah, his brothers David and Evan (wife Ann), sister-in-laws Anida Mims and Georgette Richards (husband Neil) and brother-in-laws John Perna and Bill Perna (wife Deanie), and loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Donations may be made in his name to The Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405 where he was very grateful for the care he received, or caringbridge.org. Kathryn & Hannah,
I just learned of your loss & am so sorry. We were HS friends & neighbors in Holyoke, & briefly crossed paths in Boston after college. Phil was a wonderful guy. My deepest condolences to you both.
