E. Hendricks Obituary

E. Marlene Hendricks

E. Marlene Hendricks, our loving mother and best friend, passed into the Lord's arms on Tuesday, May, 24, 2011, two months shy of her 80th birthday. She was born in Oakland, CA on July 24, 1931.
Marlene, as she liked to be known, has lived in Washington State since she and her mother moved to Ballard, a neighborhood of Seattle. She met Gearld T. Hendricks at Green Lake and they were married on December 2, 1950. Although they were divorced many years later, Marlene and Gearld always attended all family gatherings with their three children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marlene was preceded in death by her loving father, who adored his little girl, Arthur Lewellyn Peppard; and her mother, Jeanetta M. Redmond.
She leaves a family who adores her, Alfred Peppard, her brother; and her children, John R. Hendricks, Judith R. Hendricks and James R. Hendricks (Pam).
In addition, Marlene had two loving grandchildren, Racheal Felton and Issac Fisher; and step-grandson, Jeremy Kidder. Marlene was also blessed with four great grandchildren; Racheal's children, Jayden, Payton and Tristan; and Issac's daughter, Dani; and of course, her Amazon Blue Front parrot, Raymond, who she loved dearly.
As an avid writer and lover of arts and music, Marlene shared her talents and met many great and wonderful friends through the years. For those who knew her she was greatly loved and she will be missed.
A memorial service is to be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 1 p.m. with graveside services to follow at 3 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery. A reception is to follow hosted by friends and family at the Hougland House in Mukilteo. For additional information contact Judith R. Hendricks at 425-317-0603.

I can't believe that it has been over 20 years that I meet you. Who would have thought that by a chance meeting that we would become such good friends!? (College chums) I remember walking up to you after class and introducing myself. You were always my biggest cheerleader! And for that I will always be greatful. You were to become not only my dear friend but part of my family. I love you and miss you. But you already know that! I know that you have told Justin, Tater and my dad how I am. And I'm sure that you have talked to all who are dear to me. I miss you, I love you. I will see you agian. Love diane

Grandma, I just love you so much and feel like a part of me died inside when you had to go. It's so hard to know that I can't come and see you anymore and talk like we use to. I already miss you so much, but I know that you are no longer in pain. I feel so blessed to have so many great memories with you. Love you Grandma!

Dear Marlene,
I'm going to miss your beautiful smile, your happy spirit and encouraging words. I'm remembering the fun picnic's and dinner's we had in your back yard. And recently even though you were not well you always had a smile and a cheerful outlook. Thank you for being a bright spot in my life thru the years. Joe will be waiting to have the first dance when you get to Heaven!
