Linwood Esponge Obituary
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano and from 9 a.m. till funeral time Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano with burial following in Cheramie Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Irma "Mae" C. Esponge; son, Darryl Esponge and wife, Gladys, daughters; Elaine Esponge Fillinich and husband, Dick, Linda Esponge Garlington, and Marilyn Esponge Parks; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Ernest Esponge, George Esponge, Ramis Esponge, Clifton Esponge, Robinson Esponge; and sisters, Lolita Esponge Gisclair and Gladys Esponge Tauzin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustave Esponge and Celima Guidry Esponge; grandchild, Chase Esponge, son-in-law, Dwaine B. Garlington Sr. and Jerry C. Parks; brothers, Gustave Esponge Jr. and Clanis Esponge; and sisters, Lena Esponge and Andrea Esponge Toups.
Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano is in charge of arrangements.
