Patricia Collins-Levi, "Tricia" Alameda, CA, Passed away suddenly Friday, October 2, 2009, at Alameda Hospital. Born in Flushing, New York, Feb. 17, 1955, she received her BA from Hampshire College in 1976 which included a year-long study at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Tricia lived in Israel for 12 years where she met and married the love of her life, her husband Haim. She worked as a journalist in New York and Israel before moving to Alameda in 1990. Tricia was a tireless advocate for public education and social justice issues. She was proud of her involvement with the Alameda community which included the Alameda Education Foundation, serving as past President, the West Alameda Business Association (WABA) and the Alameda Film Commission. Tricia was the heart and soul of the Levi family and together with her husband, Haim, created The Glass Man, a family owned and operated business serving the community for the past 16 years. She is survived by her husband, Haim and three sons, Rory, Jamie and Ariel; her sisters, Kathleen Collins and Geraldine Collins-Bride; her brother, Jeremiah "Jerry" Collins and nieces, Alexandra and Samantha; her brother-in-law Robert Bride and nephews Patrick and Brendan Collins-Bride. She was a wonderful wife and mother, as well as a loyal and truly steadfast friend. Her love of music and art led her to champion and support the Alameda arts festival events and numerous music concerts throughout her various community associations. The generosity and wealth of love Tricia exuded throughout her life will be sorely missed by her extended family and large circle of friends.
