HERB BURKETT Obituary

Herb Burkett, 77, of Kansas City, Kansas, died Sunday, April 24, 2011 at home. Memorial Services will be Wednesday, 10:00 AM April 27 at the Highland Park Funeral Home & Crematory 4100 State Avenue Kansas City, Kansas. Burial in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth Kansas. Visitation will be 9:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Mr. Burkett was born May 22, 1933 in Leavenworth, Kansas. He served and protected his country during the Koran Conflict in the Coast Guard. He then worked in retail sales and retired in 1998. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, 2 children Vernon "Ben" Burkett and Brenda Wolcheski "Bill" 3 step children Linda Fowler "Tim" Michael Burkett, Mark Burkett "Lynn" 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Family suggests contributions to the charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the VA Home care program for their dedicated service for the last year.
