Dear Helmes Family,
Though my husband John and I did not have the pleasure of meeting Bruce, we know Steven and his family very well. We enjoyed reading your dad's obituary as it was a celebration of his life. What a difference his presence made in the world. Being from a large catholic family myself, I remember the pride, pain and loss my family felt when our father passed. He would have been 94 this year. These men truly were, as Tom Brokaw put it, "The Greatest Generation". I'm sure he'll be missed. Our sincerest condolences.

Mrs Helmes and family,
Ray and I would like to express our deepest sympathy at the passing of your husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Helmes always made me smile and sometimes even laugh. He and Mrs. Helmes were my parents good friends and he will be missed. May he always be held in the hand of God.

All the Helmes are in my thoughts and prayers. Mr. Helmes was a very special man and I remember him fondly. I grew up in Katonah on Huntville Road. My parents, John and Dorothy Lorden, were good friends of Peggy and Bruce. My sisters and I (Dotty Ann and Christine Lorden) used to baby sit for Philip, Peter and Bruce and later for Kevin and Steven. Heaven help us, they were busy boys!! He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
