My name is Lucy Reeves and I knew Ellen for about 10 years at Dr. George Grein's office. I cleaned her teeth! It was a great pleasure knowing her! Despite her dislike at being at the dentist, she and I laughed out loud many times and enjoyed discussing recent offerings at the Wharton Center and things going on in Sarasota. I'll miss her bright smile and ready laugh. My condolences to all of you.

Sincerely, Lucy Reeves

Please know how sad I am to hear of Ellen's passing. She was my neighbor for 8 years here in Okemos. I have many fond memories of her. I Loved her open, up front honesty. She always told you exactly what she was thinking be it good or bad. Most often, it brought a chuckle out of me. She was so kind and positive. She loved the flower bed which was under her kitchen window and always had time to stop and say Hello. When I first moved in, I saw her jogging and walking each day. I thought to myself- "Whoever she is, she is almost double my age! She IS my inspiration!" I found her friendship so delightful. She loved the MSU campus and it's students. She always wanted to be with the young people. This world has lost a beautiful person. One that was my friend. May you rest in Peace, Ellen. And to her Family: May you each find Peace in knowing how many lives your Mother touched in a beautiful way.

Rose and I have so many fond memories of Ellen. She was a treasured friend for many years. I had the privilege of
eating lunch with her at Sparrow Hospital for many years. She was just a joy to know and enriched both of our lives.
Ellen, we thank you for being such a
unique and marvelous spirit and friend.
Our hearts go out to all of you.

I have so MANY fond memories of Ellen, your family and life on Whitehills Dr. Breakfast there before school was always such a treat for a dentist's child...no shortage of spudnuts or scrimping on cinnamon toast; sledding down the hill behind your home; trying to sneak into the living room just because it was off limits; readying zombie costumes for Halloween. Treasured memories wherein a splendid person still and always reigns. Celebrate that wonderful life; be well, be happy...that is your gift to her.

To Ellen's family members:

Ellen was such an intelligent, delightful, charming, talented, and positive person. In the last visit I had with her at Burcham, even though she had declined significantly physically, her eyes continued to sparkle with humor as we reminisced about good times spent. It was my intent to go over to visit again...I had been overseas during October. I will miss dear Ellen. A life well-lived, indeed.

I regret so much that I will not be able to be with you on Sunday, the 20th, but that day, I will be celebrating my own mother's 97th birthday with her in Ontario. My thoughts will be with all of you as you celebrate Ellen's remarkable life.

Please accept my heartfelt condolences on your profound loss of Ellen.

Sincerely,

Hari Kern
