MARY DOLAN Obituary

Mary Noyes Dolan Age 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 16, 2010 in Tiburon, California. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1914, she graduated from Punahou School and then attended the University of Hawaii before completing the nursing program at Queens Hospital. She married Gerald Arthur Dolan, now deceased, in 1937 in Honolulu. In their 65 years of marriage they lived in Hawaii, northern California and The Bahamas, gathering wonderful friends along the way. They had three children: Robert (deceased, survived by wife Kathy of Colorado), Patricia Dicker (Tom) of Mill Valley, and Douglas (Judi) of Centralia, Missouri. Mary and Jerry also had six grandchildren, Dana Dolan and her brother, Russell Dicker (Lia), George Dicker (Elizabeth), Edward and Austin Dolan; and to Mary's absolute delight, her first great-grandchild, Lucy Margaret Dicker. Mary was a public health nurse until WW II and then helped run the family business, Peninsula Office Supply, headquartered in Redwood City. She and Jerry retired to the Bahamas in 1969. In retirement, she became an avid craftswoman with a marvelous green thumb, who loved to read and was a whiz at crossword puzzles. Her beautiful smile and cheerful disposition were probably the secrets to her longevity. Mary was a dear person who showed concern about the comfort and happiness of her family and friends. She will be missed and always remembered with love. No service was held. Donations may be made to WildCare, 76 Albert Park Lane, San Rafael, CA 94901.
