Charles Bolt Obituary
Resident of Burlingame
85, died after being hit by a car on Thurs. Oct. 14. A native Californian, he lived in and loved Burlingame for most of 80 years. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann (Mattingly) Bolt in 1947 and never stopped loving her since her death 10 years ago.
Charlie and Mary were the proud, loving parents of Donna Lee, Christopher, Eric and wife Georgia, and Geoffrey and wife Linda. Devoted to his family, he is survived by brothers Albert and Ronald, grandchildren Michelle and husband Jeremy Richards, Robert Johnson, Chandler Bolt, Kendra Bolt, and his great grandchildren Dillon Lang, Noah Richards and Leroy Johnson.
Charlie was a deacon at the First Presbyterian Church in Burlingame. He was a lover of nature, and an active volunteer for the Burlingame Historical Society and many charities and community services.
He fought for our freedom in WWII as US Army soldier and subsequently made a career as a licensed insurance & real estate agent.
Best of all, Charlie was known for being a gregarious character, loving, and warm. Countless people will forever be thankful for his passionate diligence in finding incredibly incisive solutions to their problems. He was smart, intuitive and compassionate to the extreme.
Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Burlingame on the corner of Easton Drive and El Camino Real; Thurs. Oct. 21 at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations and efforts go toward supporting the 'CALL Center' on Primrose Road in Burlingame.

I met my cousin Charlie only once at a small Bolt family reunion in Sacramento. He was charming and fun and I was happy get to know him. He had a great sense of humor and kept us all laughing during our time together. I will never forget him and wish I had had the opportunity to know him better. He will be missed.
