Sadly we morn the passing of our adored Uncle, and true gentleman, John Aimonetti on September 20, 2010 at the age of 90, following a brief illness.

John being the 5th of six children born to Italian immigrants on December 26, 1919, was a product of a great generation where honesty, respect, hard work and love of family were instilled, molding the dignified man he was until his death.

As a youth John's family made their way to Santa Clara Valley where he attended Willow Glen Elementary School graduating in 1934, then Los Gatos Union High School were he excelled as a three sport athlete, and later receiving a full football scholarship to St. Mary's College in Moraga. Most recently he was accepted as an inductee into the Los Gatos High School Hall of Fame, class of 1938.

October 16, 1942 John was inducted into the United States Army, serving in France during W.W.II, returning home to Santa Clara in 1946. After 43 years of dedicated service, John retired from Sears, Roebuck Company.

For 56 years, Uncle Johnny was a devoted, loving husband to his beautiful wife, Yvette Tabey- Aimonetti until her death in 2007. Their greatest pleasures were their many voyages to Europe, China, Japan, Russia and the Mediterranean.

Creating lasting friendships, John was a long standing member of Central YMCA, working out religiously until the age of 88 years young. His quick wit, yet sweet smile captured the hearts of many. He found joy in reading, sports, the arts, and educational programming at it's best!

Preceded in death by his parents, Pietro and Anna Maria Aimonetti, sister, Mary Ravizza, brothers Peter, Anthony, James and Frank Aimonetti. Survived by his loving niece, Suzanne (Ronald) Bondi, dearest nephews, Richard (Pat), Robert Ravizza, Bill (Doreen), Wayne Aimonetti, niece's Marlene Aimonetti and Anna Marie Ravizza, along with numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Uncle Johnny's love for his family was steadfast, we will miss him all the days of our lives.

Sincere gratitude to the administration, staff, and pals at Belmont Village, also to John's dear friends at Central YMCA, especially Hardy!
