Chester Crow Obituary

Chester Crow, Jr., 90, of Midland passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015 surrounded by his family. Chester was a Christian, a veteran of World War II who served his country in the U.S. Air Force and a retired electrical engineer. Chester Crow, Jr. was born on July 11, 1924, in El Dorado, Arkansas, to Chester and Willie (Vines) Crow. He served with the 8th Air Force in England during World War II. After the war, Chester attended the University of Arkansas where he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He married the love of his life, Patsy Rowland, on February 28, 1953, in Danville, Arkansas. Chester worked for American Oil Refinery in El Dorado, Arkansas, for 23 years. He later moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where Chester worked for Amoco Pipeline for 12 years. He retired in 1983. Chester was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Patsy Crow of Midland; his children, Jim Crow and wife, Lauri, of McCrory, AR; Carla Crow of Fort Worth; Sandy Crow Kneer and husband, Pat, of Midland; Cindy Crow McNeely and husband, Mike, of Sugar Land; his grandchildren, Lauren Crow Thacker and husband, Jesse, of Little Rock, AR; James Crow and wife, Kelli, of Jonesboro, AR; Carly Crow Newcomb and husband, Paul, of Fort Worth; Daniel Crow of Fort Worth; Alex Kneer and wife, Sarah, of Midland; Sarah Kneer Laminack and husband, Michael, of Waco; Shane McNeely and wife, Terri, of Midland; Luke McNeely and wife, Kylie, of Midland; Chad McNeely of Midland; his great grandchildren, Tate, Carlin, Lathan and Vera Newcomb of Fort Worth; Olivia, Gage, MacKenna, Brock and Crosby McNeely of Midland; and numerous friends all of whom loved and will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Willie Blanche Crow and his granddaughter, Allison Kneer. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth, Texas, with Pastor Luke McNeely as the celebrant with the assistance of Greenwood Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Manor Park Employee Christmas Fund, 2208 N Loop 250 West, Midland, TX 79707 or Breaking Bread Soup Kitchen, 410 E Florida, Midland, TX 79701. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. My wife and I met Chester during Paul and Carly's wedding. We greatly enjoyed visiting with him and found him to be a warm and loving gentleman. Our sincerest condolences go out to the Crow family. God's Blessings to one and all from Patty and Kerry Newcomb.
