Deborah Fae (Thompson) Szweda, 72, of Salem, NH, died August 6, 2023, at home surrounded by her family after a long battle with dementia.

She was born on February 28th, 1951, in Rock Island, IL. Deborah graduated from Sycamore High School in 1969. Deborah worked in the healthcare field taking care of Dementia patients for the first 10 years of her career. She eventually moved on to Northeast Rehabilitation hospital in Salem, NH where she remained for 25 years until her retirement.

Deborah leaves behind her two sons, David Szweda and his wife, Patricia and their children, Samanatha and her husband, Richard, Joshua and Julianna of Salem, NH; Thomas Szweda and his wife, Jessica and their son, TJ of Derry, NH. Along with being a grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren she was lucky enough to become a great grandmother to Autumn.

Her brothers, Gregory and his wife, Lisa Crocher, of Athens, IL; Douglas and Richard Crocher, both of Springfield, IL. She was predeceased by her mother, Marilyn Crocher and her sister, Valarie Brown.

Deborah had a zest for life. Her passions included reading, traveling and crocheting. But above all, she treasured spending time with her family.

Her smile, humor and sass will be missed by all that knew her. As we say goodbye, we hold her memories in our hearts. May she rest in peace, knowing she leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will forever remain in our hearts.

SERVICES: Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

I am at peace.

People I loved from my memory, remember me as I used to be. Think of me; remember my smile. Let the love we shared linger awhile. I am at Peace now, I am me.
