Someone We Love Is Hunting in Heaven

Joe Paul Thompson, 71, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on October 29, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Joe was born on January 10, 1954, in Cleburne, Texas, to James “Jimmy” Thompson and Rita “Joy” Thompson. He graduated from Mansfield High School in 1972 and completed his Electrical Apprenticeship in 1983. Joe was a proud member of the IBEW for 45 years, a lifelong member of the NRA and a licensed Federal Firearms dealer.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Joe found some of his greatest joys in the outdoors. He loved sharing those moments with family and friends, whether it was in a deer blind at sunrise or casting a line on a quiet lake.

On February 13, 1988, Joe married the love of his life, Sondra Thompson. They shared 37 wonderful years together and raised two children: son Dylan Thompson of Joplin, Missouri, and daughter Rachel Thompson of Arlington, Texas.

Joe is also survived by his brothers John Thompson and wife Shera of Mansfield, Texas, and James Thompson of Winnsboro, Texas; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
