Wade Funeral Home & Crematory - ArlingtonLinda Morgan McCurdy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose kind heart and joyful spirit touched everyone she met. A true people person, Linda never knew a stranger. She loved to laugh, had a warm smile, and made others feel welcomed and seen.
Raised in Coleman, Linda later made Arlington her home. She married the love of her life, Allan, on May 15, 1972. Together, they built a family rooted in love, loyalty, and plenty of cheering from the sidelines. Through the years, Linda was a constant presence at her kids' sporting events, the loudest supporter and proudest mom in the stands.
For nearly 20 years, Linda worked as a Monitor at Johns Elementary School in Arlington, where she was beloved by students and staff alike. She had a tender spot for children in need, quietly buying lunches and even a jacket when she saw a student without one. She served people in simple, faithful ways every day, with sweetness and care.
Linda loved animals, especially her dogs. She enjoyed swimming, playing the slots at the casino, and relaxing with her favorite game shows-The Price Is Right, Let's Make a Deal, and Family Feud. Blue was her favorite color, and she always had a soft spot for disco, the soundtrack of her younger years. Above all, Linda loved being with family, sharing laughs, stories, and time together.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Lilburn Morgan and Billie Jo Debusk; her son, Michael Cronley; her brother, Lynn Morgan; and grandchildren Robert Cronley and Mickael Albrecht.
She is survived by her husband, Allan McCurdy; her children, Jeff McCurdy and wife Spring, Laura Cronley and husband Mark, and Lisa McCurdy; her grandchildren, Christopher Cronley, Kevin Cronley, Brannon Cronley, Michaela Gallegos, Miller McCurdy, Mallory McCurdy, and Megan McCurdy; and ten great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, November 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Wade Funeral Home.
