Marcia Ann Taylor, 89, passed away on October 29, 2025. She was born on February 20, 1936, in Marlette, Michigan, the daughter of Robert M. and Eleanor (Philpot) Kirkpatrick.
Marica graduated from Deckerville High School in 1954. She graduated from Port Huron Junior College in 1956 and then received her Elementary Education degree from CMU in 1958. After graduating from CMU, she started teaching in Croswell. There she met the love of her life, Glen Taylor.
Glen and Marcia were married on June 10, 1961 and moved to Charlevoix in 1965. Marcia taught first grade at the Charlevoix Elementary School for 5 years. She was a longtime member of the Charlevoix United Methodist Church.
Marcia is survived by her husband of 64 years, Glen Taylor. Also surviving are her children Karen Green and Jim Taylor both of Charlevoix, grandchildren Chuck (Carrie) Green, Sarah (Aaron) Romel, Megan (Sawyer) Seger, Great grandchildren Craig and Chase Romel, Cora and Reese Seger, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, brother Robert C. Kirkpatrick and her sister in law Bonnie Kirkpatrick.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 7 at 1 p.m. at the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Pastor Karen Harriman officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until the time of service. Burial will take place in Ellsworth Cemetery, Banks Township.
In lieu of flowers please send memorial donations to the Barnard Methodist Church, 01362 Matchett Rd, Charlevoix, MI 49720.
