Martha Day (Tulia)

Martha Day, 82, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Hector Madrigal officiating with burial following at Rose Hill Cemetery. Services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.

Martha was born in El Paso, Texas, on February 21, 1943, to Faustino and Belen Gomez. Her journey through life began in a vibrant community that would shape her spirit of dedication and love.

On July 7, 1960, Martha joined her life with Curtis Ted Day in a heartfelt ceremony in Juarez, Mexico, and they later reaffirmed their commitment through the sacred rites of marriage in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit. Together, they created a bond that was as strong as it was beautiful.

Martha's commitment to her family and her community shone brightly throughout her life. She shared in her husband's passion for sports, contributing her time and energy to coach little league baseball in Tulia. With patience and enthusiasm, she helped train students in boxing, traveling across the states to support them in various matches. Her love for Curtis and their shared adventures led them to travel together, exploring new places and creating memories that would last a lifetime.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Faustino and Belen Gomez, her sisters, Lupe Hall and Linda Gomez.

She is survived by her husband, Curtis Ted Day of Tulia; her children, Curtis Teddy Day, Jr. of Amarillo, Martha Marie Mervicker and husband Feron of Prosper, TX., and Mitch Glen Day and wife Misty of Post; her brothers, Tino Gomez, Lee Torrez and Mario Gomez all of El Paso, TX., many grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
