I HAVE FOUGHT THE GOOD FIGHT, I HAVE FINISHED THE RACE. I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH. NOW THERE IS IN STORE FOR ME THE CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, WHICH THE LORD, THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGE, WILL AWARD TO ME ON THAT DAY-AND NOT ONLY TO ME, BUT ALSO TO ALL WHO HAVE LONGED FOR HIS APPEARING.
II Timothy 4:7-8
Mrs. Charles Mae Green passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at her residence in Saginaw, Michigan, at the age of 83 years. She was born on December 12, 1941, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to Sue Lee Cameron. However, God led William and Lula Swilley to adopt and raise her as their daughter, in Saginaw, Michigan.
Charles Mae attended Saginaw Public Schools. She was a lifelong member of Spiritual Israel Church. As employment goes, Charles Mae had one of the most difficult jobs ever, which was primarily being a homemaker. "She was so perfect, so divine, so ethereal, so surreal; she could not be comprehended except by her permission. She flew like the bird in the sky."
She leaves to cherish loving memories and will be greatly missed by four daughters and one son: Lorraine Green, Pamela Tasley, Stephanie Green, Kellie Green, and Tony Green; one stepdaughter, Veronica Green-Brown; her grandchildren: Prescious (Andre) Williams, China Jackson, Xavier Green, Toni Michelle Hall, and Chelsea Brown; great-grandchildren: Malia Williams, Messiah and Jesiah Tinsley; two sisters, Veodis (Cliff) Maxwell, and Fannie Mayes; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends including neighbors, Napoleon and Janel Arnett.
Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her husband, Lannie Green; brothers: Joenathan (Leola) Swilley, William (Essie Mae) Swilley, Theotis (Mamie) Swilley, Isiah James Swilley, and Arduster Cameron; sisters: Azalee (Jessie) Claiborne, Lovie Lee (Freddie) Williams; her parents, William and Lula Swilley, including special relatives who preceded Charles Mae were: sister-in-law, Annie Pearl Swilley; nephew, Bobby Green, Sr., and special aunts, Bessie Mae Stanton and Josephine Deal.
