St. Charles, Michigan

Beloved mother went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Age 81 years. The daughter of the late John A. and Marjune M. (Mikula) Kushion, Sally was born on December 25, 1943, in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from St. Charles High School. Sally continued her education and graduated from Northwood University. She married the love of her life, Robert J. Mentus, on August 8, 1964. Sally loved and adored him for many wonderful years. He preceded her on February 7, 2006. Sally found great joy in being a homemaker and caring for her family. She loved life on the farm, where she could sew, garden, and nurture both her home and the land with skill and passion.

Surviving are her daughter, Shanda Mentus; brothers-in-law, Wilfred Hoeppner, Frank Mentus, Jack (Kay) Mentus; nieces and nephew, Kerri (Shawn) Sny, Tim (Shannon) Mentus, Ann (Jim) Buffa; great-nieces, Ella and Penelope Sny; very dear friends, Tracy Oszust and Jacob Ozust. Also surviving are many extended family members and loved ones. Besides her husband and her parents; Sally was preceded in death by her son, Scott Mentus; an infant granddaughter, Lauryn Mentus; sister, Pamela Hoeppner; sister-in-law, Millie Mentus; and nephew, Joshua Stoddard.

Committal service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Fremont Township Cemetery, Loven Rd, Hemlock, MI. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Amazing Grace Animal Rescue.
