Mentus, David L. age 49 of Boulder, CO passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 13, 2023. David was predeceased by his father, Lawrence Mentus and uncles, Thomas and Paul Mentus. David is survived by his beautiful children, Miles and Meadow Mentus. His loving mother, Jo Ann Farmer, and stepfather and friend, James Farmer. Sister, Eileen (James) Thompson and brother, Kevin Mentus. Aunts and uncles, Joyce (Paul Schencke) Callarama, Michael (Cindy) Callarama, and Marie Mentus. Nieces and nephew, Ella, Aiden, Naomi Thompson. Cousins, Jason (Melanie), Tracey, Mike (Courtney), Shaina (Dave), Tom, Mike, Tim Mentus Anne Marie Scheffel and several longtime friends.
David was born on March 6, 1974 in Irondequoit, NY. He graduated from Bishop Kearney High School and went on to receive his bachelor's degree in Geography and Cartography from SUNY Plattsburgh. In his free time, David was an avid outdoorsman spending time in the Rocky Mountains hiking, snowboarding, mountain biking and collecting edible mushrooms. He cherished and was happiest spending time with his children, Miles, and Meadow. David loved to go mountain biking and snowboarding with Miles and Meadow.
Friends are invited to meet the family on Saturday, October 28, 2023 9:30AM at Christ the King Church (445 Kings Hwy S, Rochester, NY) for David's funeral mass. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to a scholarship fund for David's children, Miles and Meadow (6428 Kims Drive, Victor, NY 14564).
