Patricia L. Gordy

Patricia L. Gordy, 76, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, after facing Alzheimer's disease. She was the loving wife of Steve Richard Gordy, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. 

Born on July 27, 1949, in the Pittsburgh area, Patricia was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Breining) Leonard. While earning her degree from Denison University she met the love of her life, Steve. She continued her education after graduation to earn her master's degree from Boston University. Shortly after graduation they began a lifelong journey marked by love, faith, and purpose. 

Patricia was a clinical social worker whose career reflected her innate compassion and quiet strength. She began her work upon her arrival to the Lehigh Valley in 1982 at Family Counseling Services in Allentown, later joined Muhlenberg Behavioral Health, and ultimately retired from Lehigh Valley Health Network in 2015. Throughout her career, she was a steady presence for those in need; a rock for others, always ready to listen, guide, and help. 

Described by those who love her as a saint, the nicest person ever, and a constant source of happiness and positivity, Patricia had a remarkable ability to bring calm to others. Petite and soft-spoken, she radiated kindness. She was deeply devoted to her family, and her roles as wife, mother, and grandmother were the greatest joy of her life. 

She enjoyed football, adored her two Westies: Nick and Petey, and could often be found enjoying a good book in hand, particularly those centered on self-improvement. Her practice of mindfulness and meditation were genuine, and Patricia's peaceful spirit touched everyone around her. 

Patricia will be dearly missed by her husband, Steve; daughters, Rebekah Miller and husband, Brad, and Laura Maderas and husband, Robert; grandchildren, Ruby, Ben, Joey, Penny, Anna, and Emma; sisters, Ginny Shephard and husband, Dan, Jane Leonard, and Peggy Leonard-Martin and husband, Tom; as well as her sister-in-law, Kay Tuschan. 

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Kirkland Village, Chapelwood. Thank you for treating us all as family. The family will receive guests on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018, immediately followed by a service to celebrate Patricia's life at 6:30 p.m. Interment will be private. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Patricia's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
