Eagle Creek, OR - Richard C. Ott, 86, a resident of Eagle Creek, Oregon, and a former resident of Houghton, Michigan, peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center in Tualatin, Oregon. He was surrounded by the love and comfort of his three devoted daughters, Nicole (Guy) Blanchard, Noelle (Christian) Palasty, and Natalie (Robert) Patterson.
Born on January 16, 1937, in Evansville, Indiana, Richard, affectionately known as "Dick," was the only son of Roy and Bernice Ott. He dedicated 33 years of his life as a civilian communications technician, contributing his skills and expertise to the United States Coast Guard. He also owned and operated, Ott Communications.
Dick's most profound joy in life was his family and friends. His love for his three daughters and five grandchildren was apparent. He took immense pride in the close-knit bonds he shared with each of them. His five grandchildren, Asher and Beckett Blanchard of West Linn, Oregon, and Merrick, Keegan, and Kinleigh Palasty of East Lansing, Michigan, were a source of immeasurable joy and pride in his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Bernice Ott. He is survived by his three children, Nicole, Noelle, and Natalie, his five grandchildren, and his two sisters, Suzy (Bill) Hamby and Sally Morgan.

The Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service – Hancock Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements. A celebration of life will be scheduled for next summer in Houghton.
