Florence Cantrell Obituary

Mrs. Florence L. Cantrell, age 89, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Thursday, March 2, 2006. She was born January 30, 1917, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Charles and Sadie (Murray) McMahan. She was a longtime member of the Hamlin Memorial Baptist Church, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and was baptized as a young girl. Florence was known for her great sense of humor and the many treasured friends she made throughout life. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Cloyse Cantrell a stepdaughter, Deona Vanderhook a sister, Elsie Hardman and brothers, George, Herbert and Frances McMahan. She is survived by two sons, Christopher and his wife, Dorene Cantrell, of Niangua, Mo., and George Cantrell and his fiancee, Brandi Adams, of Springfield, Mo. a grandson, Wesley Cantrell a great-grandson, Corbin Cantrell as well as many very special other friends and relatives. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at 3 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with the Rev. Calvin Mayberry officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Monday, March 6, 2006, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Southwest Missouri.
