Janie was a very special person and friend, and we will miss her beautiful smile and wonderful personality. Although neither of us had a chance to work with her for more than a few years, the memories of our time on earth with her will never be forgotten.

Chris and family, please know that you are not alone in your time of sorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with you; and the love of God will help you through this difficult time.

Chris,
I wish I could express my feelings for your loss. As you know, I don't deal with a loss very well. I hate the fact that I can't express myself when someone close to me is gone.

As you know, I am always "Absent without leave", when it comes to funerals.

Just know that I think of you and Janie often, and I hope for the best for your Children...

Take care, Chris!
I think of you all often.

Chris and Family,

With a very sad heart, I want to express my condolences to you all.

I worked with Janie for more than 28 years. We laughed together, dealt with business problems together, schemed various pranks together, etc. She was my "go to" person for advice and suggestions pertaining to many of my personal issues (my confidant). She knew what to say or suggest at the time I needed it the most, such as; providing suggestions in the raising of my children, dealing with stress from work, etc. The list could go on and on.

She was more like a sister, than as a co-worker to me, as well as many of us here at the City.

I'll miss her smiles, laughter, and cherished friendship from now to eternity.

The Lord has given her "Golden Wings" and she will still be here to watch over us until our day comes.

I worked with Janie during the "old days" of Public Works. And I will say I had a blast. Janie was vivacious, fun, intelligent and extremely kind.

She loved her family with the intensity only a mother could have. She worked hard to keep herself beautiful and attractive without being the least bit vain! And she loved Chris. That much was clear.

After many years we reconnected again and enjoyed our email exchanges about being grandmothers. She was looking forward to her "retirement" years, although I suspected she would never really "retire" - just work differently.

I have wonderful memories of Janie Tutko - I will never forget her. RIP dear dear lady.

To the family,
I had the pleasure of working with Janie for the period I was Public Works Director for the City. Janie was kind enough to delay her retirement so she could help me settle into the job. Such selfless acts, care for others and love of family were common traits of Janie's. I am grateful that our lives intersected so I could get to know one of the finest persons I have ever met. May God comfort you all at this time of grief.

Janie always was a warm and welcoming lady with a willingness to take time out of her day to talk to me. When I started my new job at the Harris Pavilion I soon learned that Janie was the link between success and failure. She was a wonderful person and her absence leaves a huge whole in the fabric of Manassas, Va. My deepest sympathy to the family of this fine person.

Chris...I was so sorry to hear about Janie. It was such a shock to both of us. I will always remember Janie...some good...no... great times were had especially at the old Brady's.
My fondest memory was having Janie over to my house one evening sitting around the kitchen table talking and drinking wine. The next day she missed work with a "touch of the flu". Janie never realized till later that her glass never got empty despite her belief that she had only 1 glass the entire evening. We giggled over that for years! I loved her and will dearly miss her. Big love to you and the children.

I had the pleasure to work with Janie at the City of Manassas and she was indeed someone special. She would talk of her grandkids all the time so you can imagine how heartbroken I was when I was told the news about Janie's passing. It wasn't too long ago I ran into her and we were talking and we both agreed that we should get together for lunch one day and now that day will never come. To the entire family my condolences and you are all in my prayers.

I grew up with Janie - known to us as Sara "back then" - and recently enjoyed visiting with her at our 40th class reunion. It was so easy to catch up every 10 years because of her welcoming smile and genuine heart. I know all of you that loved her are heartbroken at this time. I'm so sorry.

Aunt Janie was a beautiful soul. She adored her husband, children and later her grandchildren. I was always touched by her soft heart, strength and dignity. She will be missed by many.
