Dorothy Basham Obituary
She was the widow of Zacharias "Jack" Basham. She was a retired patrol secretary with the City of Alexandria Police Department and was a lifetime member of the City of Alexandria Retired Police, Fire and Sheriff Association. Mrs. Basham was born February 17, 1927 in West Virginia a daughter of the late Raymond and Nellie Norton Brooks. She is survived by a son, Larry Basham of Lorton; a daughter, Sandra Mattingly of White Plaines, MD; a sister, Ruth Kinkaid of Beckley, WV, and a granddaughter, Michelle Basham of North Carolina. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in Mount Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, Va.
Memorial contributions may be made to Capital Hospice, 2900 Telestar Court, Falls Church, VA 22042. Mountcastle Turch Life Celebration Home, 13318 Occoquan Road, Woodbridge, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
