David Moran Obituary

David H. Moran is celebrated and loved in death as he was in life. Born in Couters-port, Pa. on the 27th day of August 1936. David met his wife of 50 years, Joan in Connecticut, where they had four children, Laurie with husband, Mark and children, Justin and Alicia, Arlene with husband, John and children, Ethan, Sarah and Eli, Dorothy and David with wife, Cathy. After taking an early retirement from Dupont, Engineering Service Supervisor in Newtown, he went to work setting up the largest plastic injection molding company in South East Asia, Hong Kong Cad Cam Ltd. Upon returning to Brookfield, David went to work as the plant manager for Poly Star in Norwalk. In 2001, David and Joan permanently relocated to Melbourne, Fla. enjoying his retirement by spending his time volunteering for Sebastian Inlet, Daily Bread, Ombudsman and Meals On Wheels. David never gave up his love for travel, fishing and of course the grandchildren. The children were the soul of David, coaching his own children through the years, girl's softball and Pop Warner Football, and watching them grow always made him happy. Please no flowers. Send all donations to your local Meals On Wheels organization. The service will be held 10 a.m. October 28 at Our Lady Lourdes, 1626 Oak St., Melbourne, FL 32901, with a gathering following at Meg O'Mally's, 812 E. New Haven Ave., Melbourne.

To the Moran Family,
I just heard about Dave's passing over the weekend. I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed him so much as a softball coach and mentor over the years. He was always so kind and caring and had a great sense of humor....always made me laugh! I know he will live forever in your hearts.

I was just thinking to look up the Melbourne #, when Joan phoned with such sad news. He was born in Coudersport, to my "Uncle" Vincen (I think?) We lost contact in the dust of WWII. I was just 3 months older. Only recently he found my NC phone number, and we spent a few happy days in the company of each others families. To Joan: I am so sorry we were not in touch sooner, and more time later. David was a solid, funny, and most honorable man: The world will miss him. Dick Moran
