Rose Bonanno Obituary

Rose (Verdi) Bonanno, age 87, previously of Bronx, N.Y., died peacefully at home on October 14, 2010 surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late John J. Bonanno, Sr. She is survived by three sons, John J. Bonanno, Jr. and his wife, Christine of Danbury with whom she made her home, Donald Bonanno and his wife, Chris of Yonkers, N.Y., and George Bonanno and his wife, Margaret of Manalapan, NJ; a brother, John Verdi and his wife, Kathy of Mahopac, N.Y; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Bonanno's memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. A Mass of ChristianBurial will be celebrated on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, Danbury. Burial in Calverton National Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 17 from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. We love you so much and will miss you greatly Nanie Rose. You were a wonderful grandmother to all of us and great grandmother to Geoffrey, Jenna, Christopher & Tara. We were very lucky to have you in our lives. Rest peacefully with Popie up in heaven now that you are together again. Love Always and forever - your grandchildren & great-grandchildren

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a roomate with my Mother In-law at Bethel Healthcare and we saw her all the time. I went to see her after mother had left, also. Your mom was such a sweet lady! I am glad she is now at peace and no longer ill...God bless you all and Rose.
