Agnes V. Lotts GREENVILLE

Agnes Virginia (Fisher) Lotts, 90, of Greenville passed on Thursday morning, September 24, 2009, at her home. Agnes had recently returned home from the hospital and spent her final days surrounded by her loving family.

Agnes was born in Augusta County on April 27, 1919, a daughter of the late Roger Martin and Lilly Mae (Buchanan) Fisher.

She was married to the late Wallace Robert Lotts, Sr. and enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, and took great pride in caring for her home and family. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Staunton.

In addition to her parents and husband, Agnes was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Fisher and Tommy Fisher; and two sisters, Lula (Fisher) Fox and Cecil Fisher.

She is survived by two brothers, Ruben Fisher and John Fisher; two daughters, Virginia Mae VanHoose and her husband, Charles, of Crimora and Charlotte Ann Maddy and her husband, Bob, of North Carolina; a son, Wallace "Robert" Lotts Jr. of Staunton; six grandchildren, Sheldon Pritchard, Ashley Pritchard, Wendy (VanHoose) Barcomb, Dawn Lotts, Jonathon Maddy, and Ryan Lotts; and three great- grandchildren. Agnes is also survived by a loving niece, Brenda (Fisher) Marshall, who visited her often and always surprised her with thoughtful and unique gifts.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Patty Roussel for all her love, support, and assistance over the past few months, as well as, the Hope Center and Dr. Zazakos. Also, the family is thankful for Agnes' grandson, Sheldon, who resided with her as her caregiver the past few years, and special neighbors, both the Swisher and Moyers families for always keeping an eye out for Agnes.

A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2009, at Bethel Presbyterian Church by the Reverend Joel P. Thornton and the Reverend Clifford D. Caldwell. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Wayne Swisher, Gene Marshall Jr., Jeff Moyers, Dean Caldwell, Rob Barcomb, and Mike Fielding.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2009, at Henry Funeral Home and other times at her residence.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church, 563 Bethel Green Road, Staunton, VA 24401.
