Maryann Mores Obituary

Maryann Martha Mores (nee Palikan) Highland/Whiting, IN Maryann Martha Mores (nee Palikan), age 76, of Highland, IN, formerly of Whiting, IN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at her residence. She was the loving mother of David Charles Mores of Highland, IN, Gregory James (Susan) Mores of Rocky Mount, NC, Thomas (Shana) Mores of Long Beach, CA, the late Patricia Ann Mores and the late Donald Michael Mores; cherished grandmother of Virginia Ann, Sara and Nicholas. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday, June 22, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 119th Street and Lincoln Ave., Whiting, IN with the Rev. Stanley J. Dominik, officiating. Interment of cremains at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. There was no visitation. Arrangements entrusted to the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th Street, Whiting, IN. Maryann Mores was born on June 20, 1930 in Whiting, IN to Michael and Anna (Celuch) Palikan and was a graduate of Whiting High School, Class of 1947. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, IN and the Slovak Catholic Sokol, Wreath 81. Maryann was an employee of ParkView Foods, Whiting, IN, with a service of 15 years and was a member of the United Commercial Food Workers Union. After leaving ParkView Foods, she was employed by Bank Marketing Associations until her retirement in 1998. Maryann was an avid reader and loved to work crossword puzzles. Devoted to her family, she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. John School Endowment Fund would be appreciated. (219) 659-4400.

Dear Greg, David, and Tom,

I am currently on a job in Alaska. Lex told me about your loss. I want you all to know how sorry I am that you have lost your mom. She was a wonderful person. I know she was a super mom because she shines from within each of you. May the Lord bless you and comfort you.
