John Ream Obituary
John M. Ream, Jr. died April 3, 2017 at his home in Tallmadge, Ohio. He was born in 1931 in Akron, Ohio, the son of John M. and Margaret B. Ream.
He was educated in Akron, graduating from Buchtel High School in 1948. He then attended Yale University and Akron University where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He received a B.S. from Western Reserve University in 1954 and a D.D.S. from Western Reserve School of Dentistry in 1956. After serving as a dentist in the USAF he practiced dentistry in Akron until his retirement in 1995. He spent a lifetime enjoying music, theater, museums, lectures, travel, and his many friends. It was then in retirement that he began traveling in earnest, visiting over 35 countries around the world.
John was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Betty Whiteman Ream; and sister, Margaret R. Larson. He is survived by his brother, Roger F. Ream, D.D.S. (Pat); niece, Margaret (Curt) Chambers; nephew, Martin (Xuan) Larson; brother-in-law, Martin Larson; many cousins; and his travel companion and friend of 52 yeas, Darwin L. Steele.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1361 W. Market Street. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

I was saddened to see Dr John passed away. I always enjoyed talking to him when we passed in the parking lot at the office. He was a gentle man and a gentleman!
