Irene P. Warner (nee Purdy), aged 87, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017, peacefully at home after a lengthy illness. She was born February 23, 1930 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Walter W. and Jeanne (Borden) Purdy.

She graduated from North Tonawanda (N.Y.) High School in 1948, and attended Baldwin Wallace College Conservatory of Music where she studied pipe organ and piano. She was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority. She married Dallas Joe Warner on May 5, 1951 and lived in Lodi for the past 66 years.

Irene enjoyed playing and listening to music, reading, sewing, knitting and cross-stitch projects, traveling, and the rain. She was a member of the Lodi United Methodist Church, and was involved at various times with Gray Ladies, Cub Scouts, Literary Club, Bridge Club, and Stitch-n-Bitch. She worked for many years for Warner Insurance, and raised two children while a full-time homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Irene is survived by her children, Michael of Medina, and Wendy of Berea; sisters, Katie Kydd of Michigan, and Margie (Carl) Mugglin of New York; and nieces and nephews.

Per her request, there will be no funeral. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. There will be a private inurnment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lodi. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Hearing Loss Association of America, forms may be found on their website, www.hearingloss.org.

On the front of her refrigerator is a quote from Robert Frost: "In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: It goes on." Another of her favorites: "Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain." She will be greatly missed by many.
