Duane L. Manning
of Binghamton
Duane L. Manning, 86, formerly of Port Road, Binghamton, entered into the arms of his Lord, on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Robinson; two daughters, Diane Mason, Kathie (Timothy) Flanagan; two sons, Dennis (Patricia) Manning, Keith (Bonnie) Manning; a son-in-law, Christopher Powell; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Merritt; Sandra Heistman; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Bettie (Morgan) Manning, and his wife Ruby (Whitford) Manning; a daughter, Bonnie Powell, and a son-in-law, Kenneth Mason. He was a 60-year member of Community Baptist Church, where he served on several boards, sang in the choir, and helped out wherever he was needed. He volunteered for the C.H.O.W. program, delivered Meals-on-Wheels, and gave several gallons of blood through the American Red Cross. He retired from Link Flight Simulation after more than 30 years of service as a sheet metal worker. He loved to travel and enjoyed spending winters in Winter Garden, FL.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Wm. R. Chase & Son Inc., Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, with the Rev. Steve Chastain, pastor of Community Baptist Church of Port Dickinson, officiating. Burial will be follow in Chenango Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday from 6 - 8 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Community Baptist Church, 743 Chenango St., Binghamton, NY 13901 or to C.H.O.W., 3 Otseningo St., Binghamton, NY 13903.

I only worked with Duane as a temporary employee for a short time, in the sheetmetal dep't at Link, back around 1990. I want all to know that I found him to be a very nice person!!!
