Otto Taylor Ling
of Binghamton, N.Y.
Otto Taylor Ling, 80, of Binghamton, N.Y., passed away on April 21, 2005. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Helen Ling; his son and wife, Stanley and Karen Ling, Chengango Bridge, N.Y.; his daughter, Cathy Ling-Cilley and husband, Dana Cilley, Endwell, N.Y.; and three grandchildren, Emily, Kevin, and Laura Ling, Chenango Bridge, N.Y. He was predeceased in death by his parents, Thomas and Alma Ling, Clearfield, Pa.; a brother, Walter Ling; and a sister, Evelyn Stile. He is survived by two sisters, Mildred Bechtol, De Leon Springs, Fla., and Ethel Adams, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; as well as many close nieces and nephews in Ala., Fla., and N.C. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II, and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1950. He retired from the Link Flight Simulation Division of the Singer Co. as the General Manager of the Binghamton Operations in 1988 after 38 years of service. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying golf, hunting, and fishing, as well as watching his children and grandchildren in many sports.
Funeral services will be conducted with family members only, by J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home, Alum Bank, Pa. Interment will be at Mt. Union Cemetery, Bedford Co., Pa. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be submitted to a charity of choice if desired.
