Cory Hitch Obituary

Cory Lynn Hitch
8/10/1985 - 10/13/2010

Cory Lynn Hitch, age 25, passed away on October 13, 2010. Cory was born in Roseville on August 10, 1985. Cory graduated from Woodcreek High School where she was an honor student. She played soccer, basketball, and water polo for the Timberwolves. In water polo, she was starting goalkeeper with the nickname of "the brick wall". She was involved in Girl Scouts, played softball for the Roseville Girls Softball Club, and played soccer for the Roseville Youth Soccer Club. She worked as a senior tutor with children who have autism while attending night classes to pursue a career in nursing.
We will miss Cory's infectious smile, loving personality, kindness to animals, and sharp wit. Her quirky sense of humor and rebel-like attitude made her the envy of all her friends. She radiated fun and if there were ever a dull moment, Cory could fill that time with something adventurous to do. She had her own style about her and never cared what other people thought. She really did walk to the beat of her own drum. Her unique personality and ability to befriend anybody made her the kind of individual we all strive to be. Her shoulder may not be there to cry on, her laugh may not be heard, and her smile may not be seen, but her life will go on through the memories that were shared with the friends and family whom she loved. She will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her wife, Michelle Nichole Hitch, her parents, Rick and Loretta Hitch and Karen Wilbourn, sisters, Toni Willis (Jared), Alicia Hitch, and Samantha Pfost, nephews Orion Willis and Slade Conaty, as well as numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at Maidu Community Center in Roseville, CA on October 23, 2010, from noon to 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations are being accepted on behalf of Cory's memory www.friendsforsurvival.org

Oh my Goalie...I am so sad, I will cherish our memories of games, tournaments, sleep overs, dance parties, Dos Coyote's, and everything in between. It would not have been the same without you and life will never be complete now that you are gone. My love and thoughts to your family and especially your sisters, because I know how much you love them. I hope to see you again on the other side. Love for eternity, Abby Lacheur, your set and set defend, Big Blue #8
