"how are you doing mate" would always bring a smile to my day... my good friend who was always happy to see you... you were a blessing to the people you touched... I grieve deeply over the loss of my dear friend, Rodney. I’m praying for comfort and healing for Heather, Tessa, Anissa, all of Rodney’s siblings, and everybody who loves him. We were roommates in Colorado for two years, and I will remember his kindness, his compassion, his smile, his generosity, and his unwavering joy—even at times when he had valid reasons to express only unhappiness and sorrow.
Rodney’s laughter and sense of humor were infectious. I shall never forget his love for children, and especially babies! O, how he was drawn to children, and he always made a fuss over them. I love the love Rodney expressed toward everyone with whom he came into contact. I shall never forget howling laughter…and the tears we shed together. Rodney Clarke loved like a child. The world would be a far better place if we all had the capacity which Rodney possessed—to see the world as a child and love his fellows as a child would.
“Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, ‘Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.’"

My wife and I were introduced to Rodney through a mutual friend at our local gym, California Family Fitness. I was immediately struck by his cheerful and caring demeanor. I cannot recall him ever speaking poorly of another; on the contrary, he always highlighted those positive elements in others, his warmth, humor, and candor will be deeply missed. Whether I sought out Rodney or he sought me, our conversations ran the gamut-politics, entertainment, or business (and the odd anecdote that would provoke howls of laughter). We miss him deeply and know that he is in the warm embrace of the Lord. May God bless his family which so clearly helped shape the wonderful man we came to love.

I am so sorry for the loss of your dear loved one. It's comforting to know that God cares for all of us. The Bible gives us hope that one day we can see our loved ones again. On behalf of all mankind Jesus surrendered his soul. John 15:13 says “No one has love greater than this, that someone should surrender his soul on behalf of his friends.” Truly I am sorry to hear of the loss of your dear loved one and I hope these few words will bring you comfort and hope.
