Not sure what to say?

This is a poem for David and for those of us that love him.

ACCEPTANCE

Death, so it seems, comes all too soon
As time passes, we lose connections
Our parents,siblings & dearest friends

Each death may provide a wakeup call
To what could or might have been
And to our awareness of mortality

Yet an outer shell is not the end
As soul moves on, often to return again
Even more conscious the next lifetime

But we must give grief its' due
Missing another's physical presence
Is simply painful to the core

We often feel helpless in our grief
Yet acceptance gives us strength
And love, only love, can see us through

May the blessings be,

How does one write a few words about David Englund? Impossible. Dave was a fun guy to be with. It's too bad that Christmas only came once a year, because we loved his annual Christmas poems. Irreverent, often incomprehensible, but filled with wisdom. Dave had a full life and we are grateful that we had the opportunity to share part of it with him.

Peace and love to David and the Noble-Englund Clan and Friends,

David lived a very exciting and full life, which was shared with so many of us. It is an honor to have been his friend, and, through Walt and Bette, to be part of the extended family. David's poetry and personal support during our grieving the loss of both Walt and Bette keeps him and all of you in our thoughts and prayers. I will always hold the walks and talks with David on the Bluff Trail close to my heart. Thank you all for sharing your lives and love with the Tryon family. We will be with you in spirit as you gather to celebrate David's life.

During the 1980's I had several classes with Dr. Englund in my major, Child Development. He was so down-to-earth and approachable. He spoke frequently of his blended family with great pride. His family was what he valued most and I admired him greatly for that. My deepest sympathy to his entire family.

I am sorry to hear of David's passing. Mike and I were neighbors(next door) of David and Margie and the "blended family" for many years and watched their kids grow up along with ours (Kim, Kristi, Will). We loved Los Osos too. We moved to Paso Robles several years ago. I remember him as kind, friendly, smart and a very free spirit. Mike and I saw him at Costco in San Luis Obispo not too long ago and he had a big smile of remembrance for us even though I know he was ill. I will always remember him, not only because of who he was, but because he died on my birthday. Also, because Mike died on 7/23/2013....so close together. I know you will all miss him. He was a special person with rare talents!

He was a man of great sensitivity and joy . . . with childlike and humanistic attributes. We were close and yet so far apart. His family was his center in a world with no boundaries. Rest in Peace, Dave
