Paula Goodman Obituary

Paula Jean Goodman, 86, peacefully went to be with her lord and Savior Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at home with her family surrounding her. Mom had a five year battle with Alzheimer''s Disease, but was able to stay in her home due to the care of her loving husband, Lou. The family also wants to thank Remy, Juanita and Andrea for their faithful and compassionate assistance. Paula Jean was born in Oklahoma in July 1924 and married Louis C. Goodman June 10, 1945. They had two sons, Clay and Brad. She also had three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. During World War II, she worked as "Rosy the Riviter." Besides being a constant loving mother and wife, Jean worked as a dental assistant, teacher and real estate agent. When she moved to San Luis Obispo in 1994, she served on the Grand Jury. Mom always had a helpful and serving spirit. Her outward loveliness was matched only by her inward beauty. She will be missed by her loving husband of 65 years, Lou; sons Clay (Tina) and Brad (Nancy); grandchildren Scott (Amy), Amanda (Jason) and Alyse (Chris) and great-grandchildren Calli, Bella, Evann, Jonah, Ben and Tait. There will be a graveside memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at San Luis Cemetery. Some family members may be participating in the Alzheimer''s Memory Walk at Laguna Lake Park in the morning, where donations to Alzheimer''s research can be made in Paula Jean''s name. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alzheimer''s Association, California Central Coast Chapter, 1528 Chapala St. Ste. 204, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, www.alz.org/cacentralcoast We love you Mom. We know you are in a better place and you taught us a faith and a hope that we will be together again. We are so blessed to have known you.

I miss you Mom, but I have been filled with such wonderful memories. You were the best Mom any boy could have wanted. Thanks so much for all you did for me. I will love you forever. Your Braddy Boy.
