Donna Bretvick Obituary

Donna D. BRETVICK Donna passed away peacefully with her close family members present on May 24, 2011, after a long and courageous battle against breast cancer. She was born June 10, 1959 in Bremerton, WA to Charles W. and Taimi Irene Botsford, raised in Gorst and graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1977. Donna attended Olympic Community College and received her Bachelor's Degree from Central Washington University, and began working in banking and managed a finance company office. In June of 1983, Donna wed Neil Bretvick, and together they raised two daughters; Amanda and Abby. Donna was active in the Kirkland community with schools, serving on a PTSA board, and as a Girl Scout Troop leader. She truly enjoyed outings with "her girls", including not only camping but trips to the theater, Seaside, and other points of interest. She loved the outdoors, hiking in the woods, the theater, reading, scrapbooking, needlework, and was a formidable online Scrabble player. In addition to her husband and daughters, Donna is survived by her mother, brothers Larry and Richard Sandberg and Allan Botsford, sisters Jeanette Zaleski and Susan Peterson, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, and brothers Bill Sandberg and Steven Botsford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. A visitation will be held Monday, May 30 from 1 to 5 PM at Flintoft's Issaquah Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 31 at 11:00 AM at St. John Vianney Parish in Kirkland.
