I was a classmate of Doug's in High School. He was very athletic, intelligent and great with one liners. He always had a smile and a kind word. I was so happy we had connected again through Facebook, he characteristically reached out first and welcomed me back as a friend after many years of being out of contact. I am saddened but the sharing of stories (Thank you all for that as it's hard to ask) really made it clear that he and his wife shared an extraordinary love that was blessed with three life's. Until we meet again Dear Friends.

My family was so saddened by the trajic loss of both Doug and Donna. Our daughter plays ultimate with Nolan and our son plays ulitmate with Conner. We got to know Donna and Doug through our children's sporting events. Both my husband and I really enjoyed the conversations that we engaged in with the two of them wether it be about what was happening on the field with the kids or our experiences growing up. The sidelines of ultimate tournaments and games will certainly miss their spirit. We wish all peace and comfort to Nolan, Bryce and Connor and the family.

I knew Doug when he went to Ballard High School,(briefly) and we were very fast friends. As a group we would ride our bikes over to Poulsbo to visit picnic and ride dirt bikes. I'm sorry we did not keep up with our friendship as adults. He was a very kind and genuine friend. I was so sad to see the notice about both Doug and Donna (even though I never met her, if Doug loved her she must have been an exceptional person). I am honored to have known him, and his kind and gentle spirit. My thoughts are with their children and family. Marlece Wasmund

In 1983/84 I met Doug and Donna on the soccer field. I watched them meet, fall in love and Marry. For ten years there was a group of us that did every thing together, our one common denominator was we played soccer. I also married and have 3 kids ages 17,15, and 13. When our kids were smaller we found the time to plan dinner dates and exchange horror stories of having three kids preschool age. It was great fun, unfortunately we lost touch in the last ten years. I am stunned and saddend by there sudden and premature departure. However I feel completely honored and blessed that for fifteen years they were a part of mine, and my familys' lives. Nolan, Bryce, and Connor, there are no words to describe your loss, your mom and dad were kind, compassionate, brilliant, very much in love and had a remarkable sense of respect for the gift that each brought to their marriage.
My heart and my prayers go to you, and to all of Doug and Donnas' extended family.
