George Clark Obituary

George "Ed" Edward Clark, Jr. 1947-2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing on Oct 15 of our son, brother, husband, father and dear friend. He is survived and mourned by his parents: George and Nancy Clark; siblings: Diane Lee, Nancy Spitzer, Kathy Robertson and Glenn Clark; his wife, Dianne Woodside Clark; and three children: Jason Clark, Jeremy (Stephanie) Clark and Kelley Clark Interiors (Brian) Capizano. Originally from Wayne, Michigan, Ed was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps; he joined the service in 1966, serving as a flight meteorologist for 12 years. A graduate of Chaminade University of Honolulu, Ed earned a BA in Business, in 1977, and then settled in California to raise his family. In 1983, he established a construction business in the Bay Area, Clark Interiors, and helped numerous loyal clients with quality remodeling projects. Ed was a dedicated coach (soccer, baseball, basketball and track), a devoted father and family man. He was our hero, our rock. We will love and miss him forever. A Rosary will be held Wed., 7:45 pm at Roller & Hapgood & Tinney, 980 Middlefield, Palo Alto. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Bishop McElroy at St. Pius Church, 1100 Woodside Rd., Redwood City, at 12 pm Thursday. www.rollerhapgoodtinney.com

I've known Ed for 35 years and I've been working with him on a daily basis for the last 10. For the last several months he was in obvious discomfort, yet he was stoic... he never complained.

Ed had a strong moral compass and a deep rooted sense of responsibility. He had a lot of talent at work and a lot of intestinal fortitude. He persevered where many others wouldn't.

Ed always took an interest in those around him and was always eager to help. He had a great sense of humor and we shared many laughs together, often laughing at our diminishing capacities.

He touched my life and I'm better for having known him. He was a loyal friend and a great companion. I loved Ed and I miss him. I will continue to miss him for a long time to come.

He was a man his family could be proud of.

So long my friend. Rest easy now.
