OROTHY NEWMAN Obituary

Passed away on October 14, 2010. She was known to her family and close friends as "Johnnie". Johnnie was born in Ford, Kentucky on August 26, 1926 and was the first daughter of Ancil and Jessie Warner. She moved to Hamilton, Ohio, when she was 15 years old, where she lived until 1961. In January of 1961, she married William J. Newman and moved to California. Johnnie and Bill have two children, Scott and Sheila Newman. She also has three grandchildren, Jessica, Joseph and Jacob; many nieces, nephews, and many great great nieces and nephews. Johnnie was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret and Barbara. She has one surviving brother, Jimmie Warner, Sr., who resides in Indio, California. After moving to California, Johnnie resided in Torrance, California, before moving to the San Fernando Valley in the summer of 1976, where she remained until her death. She was a mother and friend to all of those that came into her life. She welcomed all of her family and friends to her home and made them feel like her home was their home. She was the rock of the family and will be greatly missed. Services will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010, at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen St., Chatsworth, CA 91311. Viewing is at 9:00 a.m., with services beginning at 10:00 a.m.
