SANDRA CASSIDY Obituary

A resident of Granada Hills, born February 19, 1934 in Grand Island, Nebraska. She passed away unexpectedly and entered eternal life on October 12, 2010. Sandra was a resident of the Valley since 1939. She earned a B.S. in Nursing from Mt. St. Mary's College Los Angeles in 1955. Sandra married Jack Cassidy in 1958 and they had sixteen years together until his untimely death in 1974. Sandra was the mother of four children: Kelly, John, Shelagh and Peter, and the grandmother of Jack, Carter, Cooper, Rosalia and Aiden. Nursing and caring for others was her passion; she was a Registered Nurse at Holy Cross and Valley Presbyterian Hospitals and then found her calling as a school nurse with LAUSD, which she retired from in 1998. She continued nursing by actively volunteering at MEND in Pacoima until her death. A friend to all, she enjoyed traveling, Irish step dancing and was a devoted parishioner of St. John Baptist de la Salle for over 50 years. Sandra is survived by her children, grandchildren, siblings and the numerous members of her extended family. She will be greatly missed by all her family and countless friends. Rosary October 17, 2010, 5:00 p.m., Funeral Mass October 18, 2010, 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at San Fernando Mission Cemetery in Mission Hills. Directors 818-361-7387

My deepest, heart felt condolences to the entire family. JC, My heart is with you . Remember, you are loved! Your Mother was such a wonderful Lady! She was always so kind and sweet. She made a lasting impression on me that will remain with me forever.
