LILLIAN E. HOLMES

HOLMES, LILLIAN E. (KOLEP) Jan. 15, 1925 to Sept.14, 2010 Lily Holmes passed away quickly on September 14, 2010 of an aortic aneurism. She was a special woman who loved her family and friends, woodworking, camping, fishing, hunting, nature, aqua X and the gals. At 25, she and her father built a cabin cruiser from an old Navy landing craft. Throughout her life she built furniture, including a standard size pool table, and turned lamps on her lathe. She loved adventure and shared a life full of exploring Baja and other locales with her husband of 56 years, Kenny Holmes Jr. Their credo was "no dirt road will be bypassed." Born in San Pedro, CA. Married in 1951 to Kenny Holmes Jr., moved to Carlsbad with Kenny in 1982 and has lived there until her passing September 14, 2010. She is surived by daughters Susie Joubert of Redondo Beach and Dede Summer of Encintas, son-in-law Bob Joubert and Steve Summer, grandchildren: Jeff (Alice), Melissa, Michelle Joubert, and great-grandchild-ren Eric and Bradley Joubert and Lillie Richards. She was preceded in death by her son Kenny Holmes III, 1977 and her husband Kenny Holmes Jr., 2007. Lily was the greatest and we will miss her never ending, radiant smile. She will always be in out hearts - we wish her peace. Graveside services to be held at noon, October 8, 2010 at Green Hills Memorial Park, San Pedro, CA.
