Amos Roulette Obituary

Amos Roulette went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2010. His wife, Patti, held his hand as he made his journey and said goodbye to her beloved, the love of her life. Amos was born in Los Angeles, Calif. on April 18, 1936 to Irene and Amos Emery Roulette. He graduated top of his class from USC in 1960 and received his doctor's degree in Pharmacy as well as the Carter Cannon Award for being the outstanding student. He was a highly regarded pharmacist for 50 years and his greatest joy was helping others. He was a man of many talents which included photography, skiing, fishing and golfing. He marched in the Pasadena All City Band, playing his trumpet at the Rose Bowl Parades. He loved his church and served on the council at Desert Chapel for many years. He is survived by his wife, Patti, of 42 wonderful years and four beautiful children; Cheri Smith, Charles Quint, Cindy Hitson and Mark Roulette. Also, survived by his grandson, Bradley, and his granddaughters, Arika, Kristine, Jesika, Jessica, Kristina and Kathryn; his sister, Marge Romero, and his brother, Ed Roulette. He spread joy to all those around him and his laugh was contagious. He loved Trojans football and even made the first "God is a Trojan" button. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was truly a loving, kind and generous man. His words to us are, "Rejoice and know I am with the Lord." A memorial service will be held on January 8, 2011 at 11:00am at Desert Chapel, 630 South Sunrise Way, Palm Springs, CA 92264. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Desert Chapel. I knew the Roulette family when we were children......junior high and elementary school. We were neighbors on Mentone Street in Pasadena. Margaret was one of my best friends in the 1940's. Margaret and I have recently been in touch and my heart goes out to all of the family for the recent loss of Ruben and now Amos. Even as a child I knew he would be someone important, God Bless him and his family. Love to you all, Meredith Harris
